PoultryFest Idol Competion
Showcase your talents during PoultryFest Idol! Move over American and Canadian Idol and watch out Susan Boyle, the Idol competition that counts is coming back to PoultryFest Niagara 2010.
Building on the continued success of previous years, the outlook for the 2010 version is even more exciting with the addition of a grand prize. This year, PoultryFest judges will select a grand prize winner from the two categories and this contestant will have the opportunity to cut a demo record courtesy of The Guitar Loft and Squidcake & Soul recording studio.
“We have some really exciting talent in the Niagara Region,” said Idol co-coordinator Henry Swierenga, “and PoultryFest Niagara is proud to be able to provide an opportunity for this talent to shine.”
Swierenga added that previous PoultryFest Idol winners have gone on to appearances on Broadway, fronting bands as lead singers and others have competed in national televised competitions.
This year(tm)s contest will be broken up into two divisions. Division One (Junior) is reserved for contestant aged fifteen and under, solo or duet. Division Two (Senior) includes anyone sixteen years of age and over, again solo or duet.
The PoultryFest Idol competition will take place on the Enbridge Arena Stage in the arena starting at 3:00 pm with the junior competition with the senior division following. Check the PoultryFest website, www.poultryfest.ca, for contest rules and registration.
Idol organizers remind potential contestants to register early as space will be limited. Late registrations on PoultryFest day will only be allowed if time permits for additional entries.
